Position: Volunteer Coordinator (Volunteer)
Description: The Volunteer Coordinator must possess an upbeat attitude and a strong work ethic. This individual will oversee all aspects of the volunteer experience at our Tidewater Drive ReStore location. Strong interpersonal skills, high attention to detail and creativity is required.
Responsibilities:
- Schedule 30 minute trainings for interested volunteers
- Maintain volunteer documents, waivers, forms and paperwork
- Schedule volunteers for shifts at ReStore
- Coordinate with management to develop a volunteer assignment sheet for distribution
- Monitor and respond to email requests from potential and current ReStore volunteers
- Assist in creating signage for ReStore Volunteering
- Use my.habitat.org to review volunteer management updates and information (Training provided)
- Create a Mission Wall with photos, signage and details regarding Volunteering in ReStores with guidance from ReStore Director & Store Manager
Qualifications:
- A positive, upbeat attitude
- Ability to work with diverse populations
- Highly creative
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, etc.)
- Strong communication skills both written and interpersonal
- Strong organizational skills, detailed-oriented with the ability to multi-task
- Enthusiasm for the mission of Habitat for Humanity ( http://shrhabitat.org/our-mission/)
- Experience scheduling and planning tasks for groups of 5 or more people
*Hours for this position are: Monday - Friday, 10a.m. - 3p.m. Dress comfortably because this position will sometimes require you to walk around the ReStore facility.
**Knowledge of simple design software such as CANVA, PPT, Photoshop or Adobe InDesign is not required, but a PLUS!

Habitat for Humanity South Hampton Roads utilizes the power of volunteers to build affordable homes in our community and provide support in our ReStores. We serve all seven geographical entities that comprise South Hampton Roads: Chesapeake, Isle of Wight, Norfolk, Portsmouth, Smithfield, Suffolk, and Virginia Beach. Together with the help of volunteers, we have built over 200 homes throughout the area.
