Description:
Donations Dock volunteers work both outside on the donations dock and inside in the back of the store. These volunteers work closely with donors who drop off new and gently used household items. We are looking for volunteers with energy and an upbeat, patient, and friendly attitude. If you want to get a workout in while volunteering, this position is for you!

Responsibilities:
- Unload donations from donors’ cars and Habitat trucks
- Provide donation receipts to donors
- Sort "good" donations from recycling/trash
- Bring donated items into the back of the store
- Clean and organize items in the back of the store
- Carry items to the sales floor
- Assist customers in carrying items to their cars
Requirements:
- Knowledge of and commitment to the philosophy of Habitat for Humanity
- Great customer service toward donors and ReStore customers
- Ability to work closely with staff, donors, volunteers, Habitat homeowners, and customers
- Ability to bend, squat, and lift at least 30-40 pounds
- Ability to stand for long periods of time
- After a 3-4 week "audition" period, a long-term commitment is needed
Training:
On-site training is provided. Most volunteers are fully trained within one month of volunteering.

Through the selling of donated construction and home related items:
· Increase the number of homes built with low-income families through Habitat for Humanity of Charlotte.
· Prevent usable items from being put in landfills.
· Provide quality building materials to the general public at discounted prices.
Description
The ReStore is a fundraiser for Habitat for Humanity of Charlotte- individuals and coporations donate building materials, appliances, and home furnishings, and these items are sold to the public. Proceeds are used to build homes in partnership with needy families in the Charlotte area.
