Non-fiction Text Writer
Unleash your inner author! The Minnesota Literacy Council is seeking volunteers to write high interest non-fiction texts. The texts will be used in a pre-GED English Language Arts curriculum for adults with a fourth to eighth grade reading level. This curriculum will help adult learners improve reading, writing and critical thinking skills as they work towards earning a GED.
Fluency in English and strong written communication skills required.
Sample texts, writing guidelines and possible topics will be provided. The literacy council may edit texts to suit the needs of the curriculum and will hold the copyrights to any texts written. Future sales of the curriculum will support free literacy services offered by Open Door Leaner Centers, a program of the Minnesota Literacy Council.
Texts are needed now through early May. Contact Burgen Young, Instructional Manager, byoung@mnliteracy.org for more information.
