Share your unique talents with a group of girls who are eager to learn from your expertise. We'll provide you with the information, training, and support you need.
Who can lead a troop? Parents, teachers, professionals, college students, military personnel, women or men...any adult who feels connected with Girl Scouting!
What is the leader's role? With support from parents, community volunteers, and staff, a leader runs a troop by partnering directly with the girls.
How much time will this take? It's up to you. You decide how often your troop meets. The time you give as a troop leader is valuable; we have the tools and support for you to make the most of it.

As a volunteer, you’ll introduce girls to new experiences that show them they’re capable of more than they ever imagined. You’ll be their cheerleader, guide, and mentor, helping them develop skills and confidence that will last long after the meeting is over. Imagine the smiles, the excitement, the memories made-those are the moments you’ll share at Girl Scouts.
We have waiting lists of girls all over our council from Charlottesville to Harrisonburg, Roanoke to Lynchburg, Blacksburg to Wytheville, Danville to Martinsville. Be the role model she’ll always remember. Start today! As a valued volunteer you will be given orientation and training necessary to contribute and thrive in your position.
