Special Olympics NC needs announcers to help at our Summer Games competition! Volunteers will be needed for various shifts throughout the weekend! Announcers will be given some talking points, but they are in charge of keeping competition exciting for spectators! Previous public speaking and/or annuoncer experience is preferred.
Our 2016 Summer Games which will be June 3-June 5 in various locations in Raleigh and Cary. General (non-announcer) volunteers can sign up through our website, www.sonc.net/ starting in April. If you are interested in taking on an announcer role for a day (or all three!) please reach out to Michelle Bandklayder (mbandklayder@sonc.net) for more information!

The mission of Special Olympics is to provide year-round athletic training and sports competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy, and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with their families and other Special Olympics athletes and the community.
