Every year more than half a million abused and neglected children are in need of safe, permanent, nurturing homes. Too many spend years moving from one temporary home to another. They have no family to call their own. They are more likely than other children to face homelessness, unemployment, or even prison as adults.
That's why CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) is so important.
CASA was created to make sure the abuse and neglect these children originally suffered at home doesn't continue at the hands of the system. As trained advocates, CASA volunteers are appointed by judges to be a voice for these children in court. A CASA gives the child a stable adult figure in their life, something they desperately need.
In Rock County alone, there are over 109 children on the waiting list to receive a CASA volunteer. If you, or someone you know, would like to be a CASA, or learn more, contact us or visit our website at www.casarockcounty.org. Lift up a child's life; a child's voice...Volunteer to be a CASA today!

Mission Statement
The mission of CASA of Rock County is to have community volunteers advocate for the best interests of abused and neglected children within the Juvenile Court system.
Description
Every year more than half a million abused and neglected children are in need of safe, permanent, nurturing homes. That's where CASA steps in. CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) was created in 1977 to make sure the abuse and neglect these children originally suffered at home doesn't continue as abuse and neglect at the hands of the intervention system that was created to protect them. As trained advocates, CASA volunteers are appointed by judges to be a voice for these children in court. The ideal result is that a child is placed into a safe, loving home where he/she can thrive as soon as possible. It is the CASA vision to provide a volunteer for each and every abused and neglected child who needs one.
