ORGANIZATION: Utica Children's Museum

  • 7 people are interested

We are seeking a Volunteer Coordinator to help us get our volunteer program organized, expanded, and more productive. We have big plans with new exhibits and could use your organization and people skills. This important volunteer position necessitates a dedicated 5-10 hours a week managing our ever growing volunteer pool. Time frame is open, but we neeed a minimum time commitment through January. The volunteer coordinator will need to also help to seek out and secure new and additional volunteers to meet the Museum's needs.

Approximately once a week you review upcoming needs and reach out to the volunteer pool to make sure the Museum has adequate coverage on the floor daily and for special art and science events. Must have good attention to detail, good with spreadsheets, able to communicaiton on the phone and over email. Open communication with the Program Director is important, correspondence over email on a regular basis regarding the Museum calendar is necessary.

MUST appreciate the role of a children's museum in today's society!

You can work at home but need to be able to meet with the Program Director every other week on a Thursday or Friday for an hour meeting at the Museum. You must also commit to come to the Museum once a month for a volunteer meeting.

Our volunteers are vital to the success of the Utica Children's Museum and you would be making a real difference in the lives of thousands of children and their families.

Thank you in advance for considering this important role!
