ORGANIZATION: Spark the Journey

Founded in 1993, Capital Partners for Education (CPE) is a dynamic college preparatory program that helps motivated, low-income students in the Washington Metropolitan area to get to and through collegeby providing one-on-one mentoring, college and career preparation and support, individualized staff support, school partnerships and scholarships.

We are now hosting mentor orientations for our CPE Transformers Program. The Transformers Program consists of CPE students that have graduated from high school and want continued mentorship support in college. The Transformer Program requires remote communication through emails, texting, and phone calls, and quarterly in-person meetings. Transformer mentors follow these guidelines:

-Talk to your mentee once a week (on the phone or via Skype etc.)

-Meet up once per quarter

-Complete monthly online 5-minute surveys

-Complete check-ins with CPE Student Mentor Coordinators to see how the relationship is progressing

Register for one of our free New Mentor Orientations now!
