Local Coordinator for an International Student - Opportunity in Harrisburg!

Do you already have a job or other commitments, but want to mentor an international student? Quest has a student in Harrisburg this school year and needs a local coordinator to do a minimum of a monthly check-in with the student and family. So this position does not take a lot of time on your calendar, but it does take care and the desire to help mediate between the student and host family! Position is open now.

Quest will lead you through every step of the onboarding process. To give you a preview of what you'll be doing: you will schedule a conversation in person or on the phone with the student and host family separately to ask how the student is doing in the following categories: academic, social, host family, cultural. You'll get to be a part of helping the student adjust if he experiences any issues, and you can give your own two cents on American culture. You'll be surprised at the things that you can learn about other cultures and the insight you'll get on our own through these connections!

Fortunately, our star student has excellent grades and has been adapting excellently to his community and host family. Interested applicants can receive more information about the student and host family from Quest. The local coordinator should also be contactable and available to assist in the case of an emergency, such as helping find a temporary host family in the even that the student has to be moved, through his schoolmates or your own personal connections. Though we do not anticipate that this will happen, we need to be prepared for this.

Local coordinators receive a small stipend for their supervision.

For more information on Quest and being a local coordinator, check out our website: www.questexchange.org, and contact Mei at mei@questexchange.org.

We can't wait to hear from you!
