We would love help in processing books and media that are donated to us.
Visit our website: www.FriendsCamarilloLibrary.org and click on the volunteer application form to see descriptions of the jobs our team performs and any physical requirements necessary.
Tasks range from sorting and cleaning books to shelving to sales. It is a very busy operation, so the ability to learn quickly and work independently is crucial.
We are open 6 days a week, so it takes a team to keep our operation running. Volunteers generally work one 3-hour shift a week, but other arrangements are available (see information on the application).
Right now we are looking for volunteers who are available immediately and can work at least until mid-May, 2016, with the potential to turn in to a long-term assignment. If we don't have an opening that fits your interests and schedules, your application will be put on our waiting list and we will notify you when we find a fit.

Mission Statement
The Friends of the Camarillo Library is a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation run totally by volunteers. Its mission focuses on bringing to the attention and interest of the Camarillo community on the services and facilities of the Camarillo Library. The Friends helps support the Library by providing funding of new book and magazine purchases, library materials and supplies, and year-round library programs for children through seniors.
Description
The Friends of the Camarillo Library is a volunteer-run, non-profit organization dedicated to supporting the Camarillo Public Library. The Friends operates a bookstore (located adjacent to the library) that sells gently used books, DVDs, music CDs, and audiobooks that are donated by the generous public. The funds from the bookstore sales, along with membership dues, monetary donations, and bequests, goes towards advancing our mission. The Friends continues to strive to annually donate an average of $200,000 (pre-COVID) to the library.
