WYLD Hiking Day
Welcome to WYLD! The mission of WYLD is to empower underserved urban youth and U.S. Military Veterans through transformative wilderness leadership programs and mutually beneficial mentor relationships.

This coordinator will help build, maintain and grow WYLD’s programs and administrative / operational capabilities to help accelerate our mission of empowering underserved urban youth and U.S. Military Veterans through transformative wilderness leadership programs and mutually beneficial mentor relationships. YOUR help will impact this mission! Please note, we are a startup small nonprofit and everyone ends up wearing multiple hats. :)

Responsibilities will include:

  • Logistical, administrative and coordinator support for trips / excursions
  • Putting together and helping to develop WYLD curricula for certain programs
  • Correspondence with youth, parents, agency contacts, staff and board members
  • Help maintain and develop program metrics (measuring success of program)
  • Assist with social media and email campaigns. Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, Nationbuilder, LinkedIn, Google+, Youtube
  • Researching and connecting with potential collaborators
  • Maintaining administrative functions and supplies of the office
  • Keeping our status with insurance and other administrative agencies current
  • Ensure the proper execution of reimbursement processes from our field staff to our bookkeeper
Desired Qualifications:
  • Experience working in outdoor educator, in youth development and with Military Veterans
  • Comfortable working with communities from all walks of life, including communities of color and communities from various socioeconomic backgrounds
  • Comfortable with Google Docs, Nationbuilder, Window & Mac (preferred) operating systems, proficient with and MS Word, Excel and Powerpoint
  • Strong writing skills, telephone and in-person conversational skills
  • Spanish language skills

Description

Spring 2015 Fundraising Development Volunteer

This vital volunteer will help build, maintain and grow WYLD’s fundraising program to help accelerate our mission of empowering underserved urban youth and U.S. Military Veterans through transformative wilderness leadership programs and mutually beneficial mentor relationships. YOUR help will impact this mission!

Responsibilities may include:

  • Drafting correspondence with donors
  • Supporting our grant writer with research and collecting stats
  • Database management
  • Assist with social media and email campaigns. Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, Nationbuilder, LinkedIn, Google Plus, Youtube
  • Assisting with preparation and execution of crowdfunding campaigns (Indiegogo)
  • Researching and connecting with potential sponsors


Desired Qualifications:

  • Comfortable with Window & Mac (preferred) operating systems
  • Proficient with Gmail, Google Docs, Dropbox, and MS Word, Excel, & Powerpoint
  • Telephone and in-person conversational skills a must
