P.S. ARTS is proud to host Family Art Nights at our partner schools-free for our students and their families! We believe that the best way for parents to gain an appreciation for the benefits of arts education is through participation in art-making with their children. Apparently our schools agree, because we serve 2,000+ people every year through these events!

What will you be doing?

  • Helping set up
  • Greeting families
  • Distributing art materials
  • Helping with art projects- no artistic talent required!
  • Giving a lot of positive encouragement
  • Helping with clean up
  • Using your special skills: If you’re a photographer, videographer, artist, designer or speak Spanish, let us know!

Are there age limits to volunteering?
We ask that you be 18 years or older, or have a guardian accompany you.

Mission Statement

P.S. ARTS’ mission is to improve the lives of children by providing arts education to underserved public schools and communities.

Description

P.S. ARTS is the only organization in Southern and Central California that provides yearlong arts education in dance, visual arts, music, and theater arts to every child in a school during the regular school day. Without our programs, children in these underfunded school districts would not have access to the arts. P.S. ARTS also coordinates with school administrators and parent groups to provide community outreach services designed to increase community members’ capacity to advocate for educational equity and to provide critical cultural experiences for the entire family. P.S. ARTS arts programs help to level the educational playing field by teaching creative and cognitive skills to students struggling to overcome economic, ability, or literacy barriers that will better equip them to be competitive and successful people.
