Mission Statement
RedRover, formerly known as United Animal Nations, was founded in 1987. We work to strengthen the bond between people and animals with a commitment to help, temporarily shelter, and connect suffering animals with people who care.
Description
RedRover staff and volunteers provide soft hands and warm hearts when animals and people are in need, crisis and pain. We bring animals out of crisis and into care, and discover new ways to strengthen the common bond between people and animals through three main programs.
- RedRover Responders
Our trained volunteers shelter animals displaced by natural disasters and reconnect them to owners. We care for animals rescued from hoarding cases, puppy mills and other significant abuse and neglect situations. - RedRover Readers
Through stories and discussion, we help children explore the bond between people and animals and develop the empathy necessary to become compassionate, responsible citizens. Trained volunteers and teachers encourage children to reflect on the roles of animals in their communities and determine our collective responsibilities toward them. RedRover also publishes Kind News magazine for children, a colorful print and digital publication for homes and classrooms that inspires kids to be curious, helpful, and kind to people and animals around them. - RedRover Relief
Our case managers provide funding, resources and emotional support to pet owners and Good Samaritans so they can care for animals who need urgent veterinary care.
