Pier del Sol is an annual Special Olympics Southern California (SOSC) family fun event where guests can enjoy unlimited rides and games at Pacific Park, a VIP outdoor brunch with over 36 of Greater L.A.'s top restaurants in 2016 and much more!
Special Olympics Southern California is looking for an ongoing Project Manager for Pier de Sol's cookbook. Please see a brief description to the volunteer role below:
Timeframe:
- Now through May (4 months), with flexible schedule during the week from the hours of 8am-5pm and some weekends involved.
Qualifications:
- Knowledge or experience with managing projects; photography; marketing; interest in food or local restaurants.
Responsibilities:
- Co-lead for the cookbook project
- Work with Manager,Special Events on putting together all the components of the cookbook, following the publisher guidelines.
- Assist in following up with restaurants and chefs to participate in the cookbook and submitting a recipe.
- Work with SOSC intern and Committee on recipe editing, tracking, etc.
- Schedule the Photography team to photograph the recipe and chef
- Coordinate yourself or a committee member to meet the photography team, and hopefully an athlete to represent SOSC. Goal is to make sure things go smoothly, that the chef is always treated with respect and sensitive to their time, and help create an experience for the chef.
- Assist with the editing of the photographs and organize and format them to meet the requirements of the publisher.
- Assist with the planning of the Sponsorship Reception (underwriting party) to be held in April.
