The sweetest day of the year at the Forest Preserves is just around the corner! River Trail Nature Center is looking for enthusiastic volunteers to help guests have a wonderful time at the annual Maple Syrup Celebration. Lend your time and talents to welcoming visitors, helping with kids crafts and a variety of other family-friendly activities.
- Registration online is required
- Volunteers under age 18 must bring a signed Waiver the day of the event. See the attachment called "Document"
- Assist Nature Center staff in leading crafts for children, greeting visitors and more
- Assignments will be given the day of the event and will vary based on interest, experience and skill
- Staff from River Trail Nature Center will work with each volunteer to establish his/her schedule for the day. Please arrive 15 minutes before your shift for an orientation. During this time, you will be provided with an information packet and overview of your assignment

Description
The Forest Preserve District of Cook County, with more than 69,000-acres, is the largest forest preserve district in the United States. It receives an estimated 40 million visits each year, providing an escape into a world teeming with wildlife and rich with outdoor recreation and environmental education opportunities. Within its boundaries are rare habitats that offer plant and animal diversity on par with the rainforests of the world. This natural heritage offers something for everyone:
