Join our team in the planning process of WalkFest taking place on the National Mall on September 17, 2016! This is an exciting opportunity to gain additional hands-on experience in the field of fundraising during the planning of a very large annual in Washington, DC on the National Mall. If you are business or sales driven, contact us to be part of an exciting team leading regional efforts to organize this large event. The Development Team will be in charge of coordinating WalkFest fundraising activities by building relationships with potential sponsors and donors to secure donations, both monetary and in-kind, to support the 2016 WalkFest to be held on September 17, 2016.

Responsibilities:

  • Create implementation plan, to include priorities and goals for fundraising programs
  • Attend regular WalkFest Leadership meetings to report on behalf of team
  • Manage a team of volunteers
  • Oversee efforts to collect both monetary and in-kind donations (e.g., food and drinks for distribution at event, T-shirts, prizes)
  • Develop list of businesses and organizations for potential sponsorships and donations; track all sponsorship outreach activities and WalkFest team relationship owners

Qualifications

  • Previous fundraising and/or marketing experience
  • Organized & detail oriented
  • Intermediate technology skills
  • Outstanding communication skills
  • Basic anti-human trafficking knowledge
