Join an exciting team during the planning of the 2016 Walk Fest on September 17, 2016! Every year, thousands of people gather on the National Mall in Washington DC during WalkFest led by DC Stop Modern Slavery.
WalkFest helps unify the anti-slavery movement in the following ways:
- providing a platform for organizations to raise awareness and funds
- collaborating and engaging with community members
- exploring innovations in the fight against human trafficking
The Partners Director will be part of the leadership team. The Partners Team is responsible for communicating with the beneficiary organizations and other partner organizations that will be part of WalkFest 2016, as participants in the resource fair or in some other capacity.
Responsibilities:
- Along with WalkFest organizers, determine the details of the beneficiary program for the 2016 Walk
- Implement all aspects of the beneficiary program, including the application process, ongoing communications, and fund distribution
- Keep open and responsive line of communication with partner organizations
- Develop plan and implement 2016 resource fair
- To the extent possible, develop information and processes to minimize burden to partner org staff (i.e., share communications and social media materials that partner teams can distribute)
- Potentially: Develop and distribute survey of previous partners to determine 2016 priorities (e.g., fundraising v. general awareness v. volunteer recruitment v. advocacy issue, etc.)
Qualifications
- Previous event-planning experience
- Previous sales and/or outreach experience
- Public speaking experience
- Organized & detail oriented
- Intermediate technology skills
- Strong communication skills
- Basic anti-human trafficking knowledge
