We are currently seeking active community members and professionals to join our Board of Directors to help us accomplish our mission and grow into the future!
WRIL is a consumer-controlled, community based, cross-disability, non-residential, private, non-profit 501 C (3) agency. The mission of WRIL is to empower individuals with disabilities who choose to live independently. WRIL strongly adheres to the independent living philosophy that individuals with disabilities have the right to control and direct their own lives, make decisions and take responsibility for their actions, have opportunities to participate in all aspects of community life, exercise the greatest degree of choice about where to live, with whom to live and how to live and take risks and be allowed to fail. Our mission is provide a comprehensive range of services which make it possible for people with disabilities to live as independently as they choose within our community.
Description
Western Resources for Independent Living (WRIL) is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization providing services to 17 counties in Western South Dakota to support individ uals with disabilities in their efforts to live independently. As an organization founded by people with disabilities, WRIL understands the challenges faced by people with disabilities. This motivates us to achieve immediate and long-term solutions by assisting individuals with finding affordable and accessible housing, equipping a home with assistive technologies, or enhancing independent living skills. The services we offer include Independent Living Services, Adult Day Services, and Home Care Services. We have five office locations throughout South Dakota to better assist you. Offices are located in Pierre, two in Spearfish, and two in Rapid City.
