ORGANIZATION: Communities In Schools of Tacoma

Communities In Schools of Tacoma is part of the nation's leading dropout prevention organization working in Tacoma Public Schools to surround students with a community of support, empowering them to stay in school and achieve in life.

We do this by providing the 5 basics:

1. A one-on-one relationship with a caring adult

2. A safe place to learn and grow

3. A healthy start and a healthy future

4. A marketable skill to use upon graduations

5. A chance to give back to peers and community

We are looking for someone to help out with organizational tasks, inventory, and other office duties at our Mount Tahoma High School site. Schedule is very flexible depending on the volunteer's availability.

Communities In Schools is part of the 5th largest youth development organization in the country. We are the only ones proven to increase graduation rates AND decrease dropout rates.

We serve as the bridge between the student and the community, bringing in resources that help break down the barriers that students have to be successful in school.
