8th Annual Western PA Hemophilia Walk

We need your help! On Saturday, September 17, 2016, nearly 600 runners/walkers will join us for our annual 5K Race and Hemophilia Walk at the North Park Boat House in Allison Park, PA. Participants will run/walk to raise critical funds and awareness for the bleeding disorders community.

Volunteers will be needed to assist with set-up and clean-up, check in the runners/walkers, hand out t-shirts and give-away bags, help vendors at their booths, escort mascots, set up course barriers, hand out water, manage food give-aways, and work in the kid zone. We have volunteers opportunities available from 6:30 am (set up) to 12:30 pm (tear down).

Set up- Arrive at 6:30 am - Help set up tables, chairs, and signage. Ages 12 and older please!

Parking Director- Arrive by 7:15 am - Wave in and direct vehicles to parking lot, assist pedestrians with safely crossing the street to the Boat House.

Kid Zone- Arrive at 7:30 am - Help set up Kid Zone Area and escort macots. Ages 17 and older please!

Run or Cornhole Registration & Check-In Staff- Arrive at 7:30 am - Help register onsite individuals and check-in already registered individuals.

Race Medals- Arrive at 8:00 am - Hand out race medals to runners as they cross the finish line.

Race Water- Arrive at 8:00 am - Stand along the race route and pass out water to the runners and walker.

Chinese Auction- Arrive at 8:30am - Sell raffle tickets for the Chinese auction. Ages 17 and older please!

Food Table- Arrive at 8:30am - Help set up food table and make sure area and kept clean. Ages 12 and older please!

Walk Registration & Check-In Staff- Arrive at 8:30am - Help register onsite individuals and check in already registered individuals. Ages 17 and older please!

T-Shirt Table Staff- Arrive at 8:30am - Organize and pass out Walk t-shirts. Ages 12 and older please!

Goodie Bag Table- Arrive at 8:30am- Pass out walk bags. Ages 12 and older please!

Clean up & Break Down Crew - Arrive by 11:30pm- Help break down tables and chairs, clean up, and load up truck. Ages 12 and older please!

Established in 1948, NHF is the premier organization in the U.S. serving the bleeding and clotting disorders community. For sixty years, NHF continues to be a vital resource for prevention education and provides a network of support for the estimated 3 million Americans living with bleeding disorders and their families.

At our local chapter, WPCNHF assists families and individuals through a variety of programs and services including peer support groups, emergency financial assistance, advocacy, support for summer camps and educational programs to stay informed. It is our goal to promote opportunities for people who have a bleeding disorder to lead normal, productive lives.
