Our Family Resource Center in Burnsville serves as an open, welcoming place for community members to gather, work with volunteers and staff, and plan their individual paths to success. Staff and volunteers build trusting relationships with individuals and families in order to identify and remove barriers to help long-term self-sufficiency. Additionally, our network of five food shelves provide immediate aid to individuals and families and gives them access to resources to help them reach long-term self-sufficiency.

Our volunteers: Greet customers, staff and guests, answer phone calls, connect customers to resources, assist customers with scheduling appointments, meet with customers when they come for food shelf appointments and complete necessary paperwork. We ask volunteers to be willing to commit to one four hour shift per week. Immediate volunteer opportunities:

Current Volunteer opportunities:

Resource Support Worker: meet with clients when they come in to access the food shelf, complete paperwork regarding their visit, connect clients to other resources available to them. This is information we have available that you provide to the clients and training is provided. We ask volunteers to be willing to commit to one four hour shift per week, on an ongoing basis.

Shift Available:

  • Wednesday mornings, 9a-12:30p

Description

Founded more than 40 years ago by a group of volunteers, 360 Communities provides hope and support to more than 17,500 individuals each year with services in over 40 locations, including a network of five food shelves, two resource centers, two sexual and domestic violence shelters, and two programs that support school success from birth through high school graduation. About 1,000 volunteers donate their time, energy and talent in support of 360 Communities every year.

360 Communities delivers a full circle of support to families through its strong network of programs, resources, and community partners. No matter how a person enters 360 Communities, staff and volunteers engage them to identify the root causes of their problems and provide resources to help them onto a path toward self-sustained success.
