Are you passionate about your community? Do you want to help prevent homelessness? Do you want to want to learn more about state and federal housing regulations? Do you want to ensure that there is decent and affordable housing for ALL? Are you a Spanish speaker?
The VISTA Affordable Housing Preservation Project (VAHPP) needs you!
We are currently seeking dedicated fluent Spanish speaking volunteers to translate and assist at community meetings and events.
Time commitment is flexible and dependent on your availability!

Description
LSGMI is the largest provider of broad-based civil legal services for the poor in Miami-Dade and Monroe Counties, and is recognized in the state and in the nation as a model legal services program. We provide innovative, effective legal services which help thousands of individual members of our community annually, creating a positive impact on the community as a whole. Our diverse staff provides clients with legal services in three languages from regional offices located in Miami and South Dade, which also serves residents of Monroe County, and from neighborhood offices throughout our service area. Our talented and dedicated professional staff provides advice and representation in individual cases, addresses systemic issues, and empowers clients through community education and self-help clinics.
The VISTA Affordable Housing Preservation Project (VAHPP) at Legal Services of Greater Miami, Inc. is funded by HUD and Equal Justice Works and works to preserve Project-based Section 8 HUD subsidized housing in Miami-Dade and Monroe Counties. VAHPP focuses on preserving affordable housing by providing both legal and community strengthening services to low-income individuals and families living in subsidized housing through education and advocacy.
