RACE COURSE MANAGER

Be a part of a growing cancer awareness event in Orange County. Volunteer at Mommy and Me Cancer Foundation's yearly 5k run at the Angel Stadium. MAMCF's mission is to support young mothers with cancer, who also raise minor children.

VOLUNTEER JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Race Course Manager will work closely with the Director of Events and Director of Volunteer Services to ensure a successful and safe 5k run.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Procure all necessary event permits and sanctions with city officials
• Develop and implement timelines for runners
• Manage race day and event volunteers
• Asign safety stations and mile markers pre-event
• Asign water stations and post run snacks pre-event
• Provide updates to Directors & Program Managers
• Oversee coordination race timing
• Oversee coordination of race medals
• Attend at least 3 required event meetings
• Manage transportation of water & run snacks to event locations
• Manage & train event staff / volunteer coordinators
• Perform other event related duties as assigned by management
• Be a team player

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Must have basic computer skills including working with Microsoft Office
• Problem solving skills and deductive reasoning abilities
• Excellent organization skills and time management skills
• Interest and knowledge of the event industry
• Candidates that have experience participating or volunteering at RACE EVENTS preferred
• CPR Certified preferred
• Ability to lift 25+ pounds.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time
