About this Opportunity
The Hearing Loss Association of America (HLAA) is the nation’s leading organization representing people with hearing loss. Silicon Valley Chapter is located in San Jose. Do you want to make a difference in people’s lives? Have a few hours to spare? We are in need of a Newsletter Editor. This position can done from the comfort of your own home on your own computer!
The Newsletter Editor publishes the HLAA-SV newsletter every 2 months, 6 issues a year. It is published on Word; final draft on PDF. Articles and information are received from board and committee members and other HLAA sources. NE does the formatting, editing, and proofreading. Reviewing and further proofreading is done by other board members. Mailing involves folding, labeling and stamping. Other volunteers may be able to assist with that part, as well as the distribution.
Need Computer, Word, and emailing skills.
Stamps and labels are provided. This position does require a reliable computer, Word, Adobe, and email. We would like at least a 6 months to a year commitment.

We work to develop options for ourselves and open doors for others.
Description
The Hearing Loss Association of America, Silicon Valley Chapter is a 501(c)(3) tax exempt organization that provides information, education, support, and advocacy services in the Bay Area, for those with hearing loss, their families, and their friends. HLAA-SVC is affiliated with the Hearing Loss Association of America (HLAA). HLAA-SVC was founded by a group of hard of hearing members in 1984.
