Buffelgrass invasion is threatening to transform the mostly fireproof and diverse SonoranDesert into a flammable and impoverished savanna, affecting both natural and urban areas.
YOU CAN HELP
EVERY SECOND SATURDAY OF EACH MONTH, people from all over our community will be removing buffelgrass from plots in Saguaro National Park.
WE NEED YOU!
What To Bring: A small day pack, water, and a snack. What to Wear: Long pants, long-sleeved shirt, sun protection items, good hiking shoes (closed-toe shoes). Additional Information: There will be a short hike off trail to the worksite and terrain is relatively flat with some shallow washes. Many cacti are at the worksite so sturdy hiking boots are strongly recommended. Kids age 15 and over are welcome to participate, if accompanied by a parent or guardian.
