The Alum Rock branch library is seeking a volunteer with experience in Human Resources and/or recruiting to lead our resumé writing and job search program.
About the program:
Program is open to teens (17+) and adults on a drop-in basis. Program typically attracts between 2 and 8 participants at each session. Common patron needs include assistance with filling out job applications, identifying the proper place to start their job searches (online platforms), creating a new resumé, formatting/proofreading an existing resumé, and interview preparation.
The ideal volunteer will be able to assist others with the creation of a high-quality resumé by using Microsoft Word. Some knowledge on the path to work (applications, interviews) will be beneficial to our patrons.
