Kids are the best volunteers! Many families and groups really want to find opportunities for their children to get involved in helping others. We offer opportunities for families to tour the food bank, volunteer in the warehouse or garden, and often include a lesson on nutrition. We also have activities we can do in classrooms or with other youth groups if they cannot come to the food bank. Our program is supervised by a retired school teacher with lots of experience and ideas for creating exciting lessons and opportunities for children. Interns will be a part of increasing the numbers of families and groups we can accommodate by helping with scheduling, creating activities, being a tour guide/teaching children 6 to 15, and supervising volunteer tasks.
