S2S STEM Instructors are subject matter experts who provide instruction and guidance to students who participate in the ISAAC program at our state-of-the-art laboratory in East Hanover. The ISAAC program provides students in middle and high schools with a rare opportunity to become immersed in an authentic laboratory environment and investigate real-world STEM problems. Students conduct age-appropriate experiments designed to reinforce Next Generations Science Standards.
The STEM Instructor leads experiments by providing information in a clear and concise manner, encouraging participation, helping to reduce the intimidation often associated with laboratory work, and shares his/her interest and/or passion for science. The Instructor strives to generate confidence and enthusiasm for the scientific technique being used while ensuring the safety of participants.
HOURS-- 8:30 AM to 2:30 PM on days when students are present. You can volunteer for as many days as your schedule permits.

Mission Statement
Students 2 Science, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) model program in New Jersey that bridges the needs of the public and private sectors. Our mission is to inspire, motivate, and educate elementary, middle and high school students to pursue careers in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM subjects). We do so by providing authentic, state-of- the-art laboratory experiences complete with modern instrumentation and pairing students with professional scientists. Additionally, we offer a remote, web-based virtual STEM experience that eliminates geographic and language constraints, broadening our reach to serve a wider audience. Teams of students, working collaboratively with scientific and STEM professionals who serve as role models, solve real life problems while being introduced to a wide variety of 21st century STEM career opportunities.
Description
Students 2 Science, Inc., is a New Jersey non-profit corporation inspiring, motivating, and educating students to pursue car eers in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM). Encouraging STEM subjects is especially important for minority, underrepresented, inner city and female students who traditionally have considered these fields of study to be out of reach.
