The Portland Promise Center is located in the Portland Community. We are a Christian Faith Based organization.


Description: Assist with Grants and Foundations

Research Foundations and Grants. Work with small team to prepare grant proposals. Become familiar with organization's programs, goals and financial needs. After compiling all the information, compose and send proposals. Keep careful records to track their proposals.

Duties:

  • Developing and writing grant proposals foundations.

  • Persuasively communicating the organization’s mission and programs to potential funders.

  • Assembling and submitting grant requests, including letters, proposals, budgets, and presentations.

  • Establishing and maintaining personal contact and relationships grantors, foundation contacts; and Board Members, and team members.

  • Ensuring prompt acknowledgement of awarded funding.

  • Maintaining calendar to ensure timely submission of letters of inquiry, proposal deadlines, and reports.

  • Conducting prospect research including internet searches.

  • Prioritizing projects to keep multiple projects moving in a timely manner; meet deadlines; and manage supplemental material required for proposals.

Expectation:

Must have excellent writing, analytical, and research skills are essential. Must be self-motivated, detail oriented, and highly-organized, and have experience using online databases and other sources. A high level of computer literacy required. Must be able to work with and lead a team of board members and volunteers. Must have a solid understanding of budgets as they relate to proposals and grants.

Required Education Level : Bachelor’s degree, or currently attending college or equivalent experience

Pay Rate/Hour : This is an Unpaid/Volunteer internship. PPC will work with your college/university as needed to facilitate class credit.

Number of Hours per Week : Average 10 hours per month, in our office.

Start Date : ASAP, requires 6 month commitment
