For many families, the meal served on Monday or Wednesday evening is the most nutritious ones they will have all week. The Center for Worship & Service needs friendly and cheerful volunteers to help prepare, serve, and cleanup for this event. As families walk through, you get to greet them and share the enthusiasm of a well-prepared meal. You will see the same families come through each week and they will look forward to seeing you.
Time Commitment: Approximately 3:00 - 7:00 p.m. (Flexible times).
Main Goal: Support the kitchen, encourage families as they come through the serving line, build relationships.

Description
The Salvation Army of Sarasota County provides:
- Emergency Financial Assistance - a preemptive step to stop crisis before families and individuals become homeless.
- Pathway of Hope - helping families overcome barriers like unemployment, unstable housing and lack of education.
- Life Recovery Programs - provides individualized, life-saving services to adult men and women who are homeless, addicted to drugs or alcohol, or are incarcerated.
- Quality of Life - proactive housing-focused services, to include an emergency shelter for adults 18 and older.
- Community Centers - youth programs, community fellowship groups, senior programs, summer camps, group worship meetings, and afterschool programs.
- Food Pantries - in Venice and North Port
- A Thrift Store - in Venice
