Host a weekly social hour/ tea time at Hope Lodge to encourage guest interaction. Hope Lodge provides coffee and hot tea. Volunteer to provide sweet or savory treats, and perhaps background music. This is a great opportunity to interact with our guests and make new friends.

Mission Statement
Welcome to the American Cancer Society Hope Lodge in St. Louis. We understand that undergoing treatment for cancer can be both financially and emotionally overwhelming. In an effort to ease the burden of cancer, the American Cancer Society provides free housing to cancer patients traveling to St. Louis for treatment.
Description
Finding emotional and social support from other survivors can be as important as getting the proper medical care. At Hope Lodge, patients live with other patients going through similar experiences and are supported by caring staff and volunteers. The nurturing, comfortable environment provided to patients during their stay allows them to focus on what is most important--fighting cancer!
Nestled in St. Louis’ Central West End neighborhood, our Hope Lodge is minutes away from some of the nation's leading medical institutions. It is also a short drive from many area attractions, including the St. Louis Zoo, Forest Park, Missouri Botanical Gardens, St. Louis Art Museum and the St. Louis History Museum.
The Hope Lodge is a modern brick building featuring 45 guest room suites. Each room has two twin beds, an alarm clock, a large bureau, a private bath, and phone with voice mail. There are centrally located, fully-equipped kitchenettes with refrigerators, freezers, and cupboards for food storage. Guests can also enjoy the patio area and gas grill. Guests can visit with one another in the spacious dining room or spend time in one of the three day rooms for quiet activity. There are laundry rooms available on each floor. For entertainment, guests can enjoy cable television on each floor, access the Internet in the computer resource area, or quite reading areas.
Hope Lodge is also a place to learn about cancer and how best to fight the disease. Guests have access to the American Cancer Society’s National Cancer Information Center 24-hour toll-free call center, Web site, and comprehensive cancer information. At Hope Lodge, cancer patients and their loved ones are armed with the vital information to help them make informed decisions.
Guests are welcome to utilize or participate in any of the American Cancer Society on-site programs and services such as I Can Cope, Look Good...Feel Better, and free wigs/head coverings. The American Cancer Society office is conveniently located right next door to Hope Lodge. There you will find friendly, knowledgeable staff to help meet your needs.
