We need your help with our Parent-Child classes and Homeschool Co-Op Groups! We are seeking volunteers to help facilitate weekly programs with learners ages 2-3 and their guardians OR with homeschool students ages 5-8. Volunteers will assist staff member in preparing materials for the program, interacting with guardians and children, and other tasks as required.

Qualifications:

* Experience and/or strong desire to work with children

* Enthusiasm and curiosity about the natural world

* Ability to work as part of a team

* Strong communications skills

* Positive attitude and professional demeanor

Parent-Child Classes (ages 2-3 with adult):

Tuesdays - 9:00-12:30, Feb. 9 - May 3 (no class Mar. 29)

Homeschool Co-Op (ages 5-8):

Tuesdays - 12:00-4:00, Feb. 9 - May 3 (no class Mar. 29)

Thursdays - 12:00-4:00, Feb. 11 - May 5 (no class Mar. 31)

Description

Irvine Nature Center is a private, non-profit nature center located in Owings Mills, Maryland. We have 211 acres of woodlands, wetlands, and meadows that support a diverse population of wildlife. We provide more than 800 environmental education programs annually to roughly 95,000 individuals of all ages. Our goal is to expose people to the importance of environmental literacy and show those visiting our property the importance of environmental stewardship. We aim to teach a concern for the planet that translates into actions that help preserve our ecosystem and create a healthier planet!
