We are in need of a volunteer to teach an 8 week introductory chair yoga class to our senior residents at Quimby Street Apartments in Bend, Oregon.
Exercise is a vital component of overall health and well-being. At Northwest Housing Alternatives, we work closely with community partners and volunteers to support our residents by providing holistic services so residents at our properties can live fulfilling, enriched lives.
We are looking for a passionate volunteer who is knowledgeable about yoga practice and is dedicated to improving the lives of seniors through movement, exercise, and community connection.
The classes would run on a weekly basis for a period of 8 weeks at one of our properties located in Bend. For many of our residents, this will be their first time taking a class. Many participants will require modifications to participate, such as practicing yoga from a chair. We are looking for someone with experience practicing and teaching yoga with a passion to help our residents live active, healthy lives.
