Join the Green Everett Partnership as we work together to restore the forest at Thornton A. Sullivan Park! Bring your friends, family, and neighbors to protect the trees and native plants of this beautiful forested park. Stay after, enjoy the trails, and take in the views of Silverlake!

Forest restoration activities: Remove invasive non-native plants such as English ivy and Himalayan blackberry. No experience necessary!

What to bring: Come dressed to work outside (rain or shine) with sturdy shoes. Bring a water bottle or coffee cup. We will provide coffee, refreshments, and light snacks, plus tools and work gloves.

About Forterra

Mission Statement

Forterra's mission is to act with immediacy to protect, enhance and steward our region's most precious resources--its communities and its landscapes. Since 1989, we have been working toward a future in which our children and grandchildren can experience nature in and around our urban environments.

Description

Forterra conserves land by working with individuals, companies and local governments. We strive to maximize the ecological value of land, while meeting the needs of landowners. We may accept land as a donation, purchase it, or transfer it to public ownership. We often serve as a broker to identify and negotiate the most effective ownership to protect important lands. We establish conservation easements to preserve special features. For each and every property, we explore available strategies or create new ones to provide permanent protection. Forterra has established a Conservation Agenda for our region, with specific priorities and methods for each type of landscape. Current initiatives include the protection of working forests on the foothills of the Cascades, and the creation of salmon sanctuaries along our region's highest quality rivers and streams.
