Adult Day Center Volunteer

The Adult Day Center at the Minnesota Veterans Home enables participants to achieve or maintain the highest attainable physical, mental, pyschosocial wellbeing while still enabling them to remain at home. Veterans in this program will range in age and ability level. Participants will be able to partake in exercise troups, hobby clubs, support groups, outings, social events, and a variety more. Here are a few specific activities volunteers are needed for;

• Pet Visits

• To help with outings

• To play piano/guitar, etc during meal times, at social or for a program Meal times Breakfast 8:30-9:45, lunch 12-1 and social 2:45 program time could be flexible between 10-11:55 or 1-3

• Come in to visit with the guys, anytime of the day

• Help with outdoor walks

• Come and visit with clients in the courtyard

• Come in and lead a class or discussion on any topic that is of interest to the Volunteer. Ex travel, gardening, photography, baking, model building, etc

• Come in and play cards or other table games with a small group

Help with group craft projects, share their crafting skills with us and lead a craft session
