The elderly residents of Western Hills Healthcare set up a Country Store last year to help raise money to help fund resident outings and other resident-led projects. The store sells handmade crafts (made by residents!), snacks, drinks, and assorted knick-knacks, with all the money going back to residents. We are looking for a few volunteers to run the store for a few chunks of time during the week to give our residents a break. As a Country Store volunteer, you would greet staff, residents, and family members as they entered the store, help restock light items if needed, record purchases in an inventory notebook, and take money and make change. This is a good way to get to know residents-- you will be the talk of the dining room (in a good way!)! This is a good position for someone over 18, and someone who likes the shoot the breeze with people. We are flexible with scheduling (you choose when to come in!), but you must be reliable as the residents will expect you when you say you'll be there. That being said, if you give us notice you can't make it one day, we'll always understand! Please let me know if you're interested! Thanks!
