Adult Basic Education in Central-East Minnesota, a partner of Minnesota Literacy Council, is looking for volunteers!
Our current volunteer opportunities include:
- Be a Reading tutor for an individual student who currently reads at approximately a third-grade reading level. The student desires mornings (between 9 am and noon) once or twice a week.
- Be a one-on-one tutor in Math for a GED student. The student is currently at about a 5th-grade equivalency in Math. The student desires a tutoring session once or twice a week (preferably Mondays and Wednesdays) in the morning.
Who can volunteer?
You can! We're looking for dependable, patient, flexible, positive volunteers who are sensitive and respectful of adult learners from a variety of backgrounds.

Description
Founded in 1972, Literacy Minnesota is Minnesota's only non-profit, volunteer-based, education provider that operates statewide. Through a network of over 100 community and school-based programs, we provide free classes for individuals lacking the most basic reading, writing and English-speaking skills. We serve both native-born Americans and refugees and immigrants.
