On the first Saturday in June, Easterseals holds our Walk With Me fundraising event at the Philadelphia Zoo. In 2021 our event will have both in-person and virtual volunteer opportunities. This listing is for the in-person opportunities.
The last time we walked in person there were over 1000 participants and roughly 100 volunteers. This year we anticipate between 500 - 1000 participants.
Volunteers are essential to the success of the event, and help in every way from set-up to registration to clean-up. Job opportunities may also include: handing out t-shirts, providing direction to participants, handing out food, course marshalling, etc.
Volunteers have the opportunity to meet and engage with the children and families served by Easterseals, as well as other event participants. Volunteers are provided entry to the Philadelphia Zoo and may stay to enjoy the zoo after the event has concluded.
Easterseals and the Philadelphia Zoo will follow all CDC requirements for social distancing and mask-wearing at the time of the event in order to prevent the spread of COVID-19. All volunteers will be required to follow CDC requirements.
