Texans Care for Children will be hosting our annual Children’s Policy Conference and Founder’s Award Luncheon on Wednesday, February 24 in Austin, TX. The Children’s Policy Conference brings together Texans involved in informing, crafting, and implementing state policies affecting the well-being of Texas children. The conference offers a unique opportunity for more than 200 policy experts, community leaders, practitioners, and researchers from around the state to attend interactive panel discussions featuring leading Texas voices and policy experts. Participants and speakers have expertise in child health, juvenile justice, early childhood, child protective services, and mental well-being. The 2016 conference will cover the latest challenges and opportunities for Texas kids, innovative local efforts, and state policy updates and emerging priorities.
In order to make this event a huge success, we rely on the help of volunteers. Volunteers will be needed the day before, Feb 23 from 9:00am-12:00pm or 1:00pm-3:00pm, and the day of the event, Feb 24 from 8:00am to 4:30pm. As a volunteer you will assist with the following tasks:
- Preparing event programs and assembling guest favors
- Set-up and registration
- Room monitoring
- Breakdown
Volunteers joining us on February 24 will receive complimentary breakfast and lunch, with the opportunity to sit in on various conference sessions as a room monitor. For more information on the sessions offered please visit our website.
