You don’t have to pick up a hammer to help build a house. Salt Lake Valley Habitat for Humanity’s ReStore, a home improvement thrift store, is a financial support for the mission of the affiliate, as well as a resource for its neighbors, and an environmental steward diverting materials away from the landfill. Volunteers at the ReStore help clean, organize, and arrange items, creating a safe and inviting environment for the community. When you give your time to the ReStore you are doing even more than helping build a house. You are keeping over 950 tons of material out of the landfill each year. You are promoting the ideal of restoration and recycling. You are providing low cost materials to those with low income. You are helping revitalize neighborhoods, and rehabilitate unsafe homes. So help build a house, and much more. Volunteer with Habitat for Humanity’s ReStore and help put an end to substandard housing in Salt Lake City.
