The most fun volunteer opportunity around, with perks!
Commit to volunteer with NORD Outdoors for six Saturdays, and qualify for a free Red Cross lifeguard certification course, a NORD Outdoors t-shirt, opportunities to apply for a paid lifeguard position, and an invitation to NORD's annual Volunteer Appreciation Event.
Also, get a $500 TAX DEDUCTION when you complete 30 or more volunteer hours in a calendar year with NORD!
Certs for Service is a program at NORD that allows qualified candidates to earn a lifeguard certification in exchange for six Saturday shifts at our free canoeing and fishing program (training provided). Volunteers interested in assisting, but who are not interested in becoming lifeguard certified, are also welcome. E-mail smburton@nola.gov for more information; applications are due by Feb. 23, 2018 for consideration for the lifeguard course. Must be available to volunteer on Saturdays until May 26.
