We are looking for passionate volunteers to join our leadership team as a Midday Rescuer who would commit to making pickups from 2PM-5PM Monday-Friday. You will be walking with bags and trays of excess food, which would otherwise have been thrown out, to the nearest homeless shelter to feed those who need it the most. Carts are available to you to complete your pickups and deliveries.
Midday Rescuers will receive an unlimited MetroCard for each month with RLC.

Description
Rescuing Leftover Cuisine (RLC) is a nonprofit organization committed to fighting food insecurity and preventing wasted food. We have cultivated a network of dedicated food rescuers who bring food directly from our food donors to nonprofit recipients, letting neighbors help neighbors while reaping the environmental and economic benefits of reducing wasted food. Founded in 2013, our simple, but elegant model has saved over 8 million pounds of food since our inception.
