Mission Statement

Carson's Crusaders Foundation provides support and assistance to children and their families affected by solid tumor pediatric cancers.

Description

Carson's Crusaders Foundation was founded in memory of Carson Richardson. Carson fought Hepatoblastoma cancer for 3 1/2 years and lost his battle at the age of seven.

The Foundation offers services to families affected by pediatric solid tumor cancers through transportation assistance and sibling support. We offer assistance to families being treated at Medical City Children's Hospital, Children's Medical, and Cook's Childrens Hospital.

Through the transportation program families are given gas cards to help ease the financial burden of traveling multiple trips to and from the doctors and hospitals. There is also a program for to pay for parking for those families receiving treatment at Medical City Hospital. There is also transportation reimbursement for families traveling back and forth from the Ronald McDonald House to Medical City.

Siblings of patients being treated are often overlooked in the family dynamic during treatment. Through our Sibling Smiles Program events are planned for siblings to attend where all the attention is placed on them. Through the Sibling Smiles program we hope to foster relationships with children experiencing similar circumstances as well as give them a special day of their own. We will also offer Beads of Courage for siblings at Medical City Hospital.

We have been in existence since October of 2011 and will begin our programs and services in January 2013.
