Visitor Information Center Volunteer

Position Summary:

This position serves as the initial point of contact between members, visitors, the public, and the Chamber of Commerce. Greets visitors in person or by phone and answers questions on business, community, visitor and relocation services. Assists visitors with attractions and events. Receives and places telephone calls, checks voice mail and relay calls and messages to staff, makes copies, receives and routes office mail. Responsible for fulfilling requests for vacation, relocation and business information. Maintains a clean, organized and well-supplied visitor and business information center. Other additional Chamber support as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Broad depth and understanding of Central Point area businesses and attractions

• Ability and willingness to provide high quality customer service with enthusiasm and creativity

• Good written and verbal communication skills

• Proficient in using the Internet and comfortable with web-based tools

• Ability to follow instructions and work independently

• Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain successful working relationships

• Ability to work with a minimum of supervision
