Celebrate the arrival of spring by learning about our regions many bird species. This is the fourth year the Hastings Environmental Protectors has teamed up with Carpenter Nature Center for the Birding Festival. Some of the highlights include: "Introduction to Birding" class, a "Raptors 101" class, bird banding demonstrations, and guided bird trips in the Hastings area.

Friends of the Mississippi River (FMR) engages people to protect, restore and enhance the Mississippi River and its watershed in the Twin Cities region.
Description
Friends of the Mississippi River is proud to work with roughly 3,000 volunteers annually.
We keep volunteering simple, fun and satisfying -- there are no applications, and you can sign up for one event or several. We list events especially in need of volunteers here on VolunteerMatch.com, but maintain a full calendar of 60+ events a year at www.fmr.org/events.
Our project work includes conservation and restoration of natural areas and habitat, education on watershed protection issues, and organizing activities that connect the public to the Mississippi River.
