The Division For the Visually Impaired is looking for volunteers to help in a variety of ways. Our volunteers help assist clients as in home readers, work on agency projects (grant research, consumer surveys, event planning), and the creation of resource materials for our visually impaired school students (printing, organizing, archiving). Volunteers also have the opportunity to work at their own pace in a relaxed environment. No experience needed and training will be provided.
We have offices in both New Castle and Sussex Counties.
Come and be a part of an organziation which has been helping the visually impaired for over 100 years. Contact Richard Huber, Volunteer Services Coordinator, in our Wilmington office at (302) 577-2083 or email Richard.Huber@state.de.us for futher information.

Description
The Division for the Visually Impaired is Delaware’s oldest state agency, serving citizens who are visually impaired for over 100 years. The organization provides services to individuals from birth to adulthood. This organization works in part with the community to improve the safety, education and employment of individuals who are visually impaired. Some of the services that we administer include, education, rehabilitation, independent living, assistive technology training, mobility training, and employment programs. The Volunteer Services Program offers assistance to individuals with visual impairments as well. We do this by recruiting sensitive and caring volunteers who share their talents with those in need. We need volunteers to assist in a variety of ways which include Braillists, library aides, narrators, office assistants, computer lab assistants, mentors, etc.
