Every Monday afternoon, the residents from Western Hills Healthcare Center hit the town for a fun outing! Sometimes we go to the movies, sometimes we go shopping, sometimes to a library or a museum- whatever the residents feel like doing! We need some volunteers to help our activities staff get residents loaded on the van, then ride along to the destination and help push our residents in their wheelchairs. Volunteers do not provide any personal care services; they just chat with the residents and push them around so they can enjoy getting out into the community. The facility would cover your admission to whatever our activity was that day, btw. Times vary, but the outings are always on Monday afternoons. We are compiling a list of volunteers who are interested, then at the start of each month we will send a calendar along to you. If you can make an outing- great! If you can't make any that month- no big deal! We are happy to be flexible. Please let me know if you're interested!
