Muddy Paws Rescue is a new foster-based rescue group in NYC. We hold weekly adoption events Wednesday evenings and 1-2 days on weekends. We are looking for regular volunteers to help at these events - to talk to the public, answer questions, walk dogs, keep crates clean, and eventually processing applications and even finalizing adoptions.
We are looking for outgoing, personable volunteers who are willing to jump right in and take initiative! Our events are generally held at University and 9th St just below Union Square, and occasionally other locations as well. We are looking for regular volunteers who would like to come at least 2 times per month to help out. We just ask that if you can't make it, you give us a few days' notice to find someone else to fill your spot.

Mission Statement
Muddy Paws Rescue is an organization dedicated to rescuing adoptable dogs from high kill shelters and placing as many as possible into wonderful forever homes. Support is provided to adopters throughout the application process and post-adoption to help facilitate the transition for both the dog and the adopter. Muddy Paws Rescue promotes a welcoming, warm community for potential adopters and volunteers through thorough communication and a supportive environment.
Description
Muddy Paws Rescue was founded in 2015 by a long-time animal rescue volunteer and worker. At Muddy Paws Rescue, our goal is to place dogs into the best matched homes possible, and to communicate well with adopters and the public. We hope to place close to 500 dogs in 2016. All of our dogs are housed in foster homes, and we hold weekly adoption events and adoption hours so that the dogs all get some public exposure. Volunteers are the backbone of Muddy Paws Rescue, and we couldn't do it without you!
