PLACEMENT PURPOSE
Government Operations Liaison is the function of a disaster relief operation responsible for developing and maintaining relations with federal, state, and local government units.
OPEN TIME DAYS
Government Liaison activations are based on disaster activity at the time and are typically only needed for larger multi-day events. Consequently, there is no way to plan when liaisons will be needed. Volunteers will be notified when activations occur.｠
It is not necessary that all liaisons be available every time an activation occurs. EOC activations occur 4 to 6 times a year depending on jurisdiction with 8 or 12 hour shifts.
Additionally Government Liaisons are required to attend four liaison meetings a year. Participation in additional projects is optional.
