WGP is a drop-in center for homeless and at risk women in Santa Clara County. 25 to 30 women come for a warm meal and the support of other women. When they come they gave questions regarding housing and services. We are looking for someone to help the women get the critical information they need. Contact agencies for most up to date information,create a system for maintaining this information and help the women to access this information. Perfect for someone who is studying to be a social worker or counselor.
We are open Mondays and Wednesdays 12 to 4 and Fridays 12 to 3

Women's Gathering Place where a woman without a home can find the support of other women, connect to vital services, and find respite, spiritual renewal, and joy when there is nowhere else to go but the street.
Description
The Women's Gathering Place (WGP) provides a safe place for women who are
homeless or at risk of homelessness to eat a hot meal, select donated toiletries and
clothing, use the bathroom, rest, and enjoy a connection with other women. WGP is a
collaborative effort of First Presbyterian Church and caring women in the greater San
Jose community. WGP currently opens its doors two days a week from 12 to 4. Meals are
provided by volunteers who typically stay
